We use pure birch Xylitol not to be confused with GMO corn Xylitol, and we use it in some of our other products because of it's proven benefits to dental health and other nutritive value. We also use it in our Illumined C because our whole food C sources such as Acerola and Amla are very tart and it smooths out the taste and makes it a very pleasant formula. Xylitol does not raise blood sugar or stress insulin levels at all like other sweeteners.
